The PACT Act and How It Affects You As A Veteran
For years veterans have been trying to convince the Department of Veterans Affairs, Congress, and the White House of the many ailments veterans have been suffering from as a result of burn pits and other toxic exposures. Well, now is the time to celebrate because as of August 2, 2022, the Senate passed the long awaited bill to address these long term conditions. The bill has been called a “lifeline” by President Biden for so many families. The PACT Act formerly known as the Sergeant First Class (SFC) Heath Robinson Honoring our Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics Act is a new law that was passed by the Senate on August 2, 2022. The law is backed by a $280 billion dollar package that will provide life saving benefits and resources to veterans exposed to burn pits. This will allow care and benefits for 20 new presumptive conditions from burn pits and other toxic exposures and additional presumptive locations for Agent Orange and radiation of the Vietnam, Gulf War, and post-9/11 eras. If you or someone you know has been exposed please contact the VA today to apply for your benefits. If you need help filing your claim click here to contact DMV Medical Group today!
